REWILDING WHAT WAS LOST...
...INTO FORESTS FULL OF LIFE
Plants for Life is on a mission to restore Kenya's ecosystems into life-giving landscapes for people and nature.
OUR FLAGSHIP PROJECT
Brackenhurst is the story of what 20 years of reforestation can look like. This 40-hectare forest near Nairobi, Kenya, once covered in foreign species, has been actively restored with over 650 species of magnificent indigenous trees and shrubs since 2000 by Plants for Life International.
This forest has become a shining light and example of what's possible for Kenya's natural resources, with active reforestation.
BUT A FOREST IS MUCH MORE THAN ITS TREES...
A restored forest is a habitat for a myriad of species.
The progress over the past two decades has been significant, not only in terms of the visual aesthetics, but more so in the visible increase of animal life within the forest.
How to get involved
GUIDED WALKS & COURSES
